Computas strengthens its position as a leading Norwegian Atlassian partner by establishing Computas Opus, a dedicated company for Atlassian solutions and services. This strategic move sharpens Computas’ focus on IT Service Management (ITSM), Agile, and Work Management, with the ambition of capturing a larger market share.
“The demand for specialized Atlassian services has grown significantly in recent years. We consolidated this expertise and customer support into a separate unit a couple of years ago and have experienced rapid growth in this area. The potential remains substantial, so we are now taking a significant step forward by establishing a sister company to Computas AS and a new, niche-oriented brand,” says Trond Eilertsen, CEO of Computas.
Aiming to be recognized as Norway’s leading Atlassian experts
Computas Opus will continue Computas’ status as an Atlassian Platinum Solution Partner. While Atlassian recognizes them as one of their premier partners in the Nordic region, they believe their deep specialization in this area is not yet sufficiently recognized in the market.
“We see that customers are specifically seeking specialized expertise and a targeted focus. Therefore, we want to be even clearer that we have one of the foremost Atlassian competence centers in our market. The combination of our local presence, solid product expertise, and consultants with extensive experience makes us an attractive partner for Norwegian customers. We believe this will be more noticable when we go to market with a separate company and brand,” explains Rune Hagbartsen, who will lead the newly established company.
Strong customer base
Computas has been providing Atlassian-related services for nearly 20 years, building a robust customer base. Their portfolio already includes over 100 clients across both the public and private sectors, representing a wide range of industries and company sizes, including prominent organizations such as Avinor, Apotek 1, and Autosync. They recently also secured a comprehensive agreement with Elkem for a global IT Service Management solution.
Computas Opus will manage this existing customer portfolio and has ambitions for further growth in both its client base and employee numbers. The company will focus on the resale, optimization, and operation of Atlassian tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Jira Service Management. In addition, the company offers tailored solutions and consulting services related to Atlassian products, with a particular emphasis on service management and agile methodologies.
Independent company, still part of the Computas family
Computas Opus will operate as an independent company but will maintain close collaboration with other parts of Computas across projects and areas of expertise.
“We are very proud of our origins and believe it is also of great value to our customers that we have a larger and solid company behind us. At the same time, this new organization will provide us with increased flexibility that will benefit our customers. It will be easier for us to continuously prioritize investments, for example in competence building, that are tailored to the niche in which we operate,” says Hagbartsen.
