Highlights from Atlassian’s Team ’25 Conference: What this means for Atlassian users

Atlassian’s annual Team ’25 conference brought exciting news and updates that will significantly impact how users interact with the company’s products. From AI technology and new collaboration services to major platform enhancements, there are plenty of reasons to stay tuned for the upcoming changes.

1. Rovo for all: AI technology across Atlassian products

Atlassian’s AI technology, Rovo, is now becoming available to more users. This includes customers with Standard, Premium, or Enterprise Cloud subscriptions for Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, and Teamwork Collection (TWC). The rollout will be phased, with Enterprise and Premium customers in the following months, followed by Standard customers later in the year.

Rovo is designed to make AI accessible to all teams, enabling improved decision-making and streamlined workflows. This means teams can work more efficiently, leveraging AI to automate routine tasks and enhance project management.

  • Rovo for everyone: Rovo Search, Chat, and Agent creation will be available to all Jira and Confluence Premium and Enterprise customers. AI is an integral part of how teams work.
  • 50 new Rovo connectors
  • Rovo Dev agents: AI native software development with Rovo Dev Agents : Jira ticket to code directly. Code plans, generate code and peer review

2. Terminology changes: What does this mean?

Starting April 10, 2025, Atlassian will shift its terminology from “products” to “apps”. This strategic transition represents a more integrated portfolio of apps that work across Atlassian’s Cloud platform – through the Teamwork Graph, a shared data layer.

3. Teamwork Collection (TWC)

Teamwork Collection is a new suite of collaboration tools that integrates Jira, Confluence, Loom, and Rovo AI. This package is designed to eliminate silos and improve teamwork, offering features like:

  • Jira: Project planning and tracking.
  • Confluence: Knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Loom: Video communication.
  • Rovo: AI for decision-making.

TWC is aimed at streamlining workflows and enhancing team collaboration.

4. Strategy Collection: Tools for enterprise strategy

Atlassian also launched a new collection called the “Strategy Collection,” specifically designed for larger enterprises. This collection includes apps like Focus, Talent, and Jira Align, which help organizations set and operationalize their strategies. It provides better visibility into goals, work, people, and finances.

Jira Align customers who have purchased Focus and Jira Align before April will receive these apps at no extra cost.

5. Enhancements to the Atlassian Cloud Platform

Atlassian has made significant improvements to its Cloud platform, including new deployment options like Isolated Cloud and Government Cloud – addressing for now the US Government sector only. These options provide more secure and flexible solutions for customers with strict security and compliance requirements.

6. Global navigation: An improved user experience

A new global navigation experience across Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian products will make it easier for users to navigate between tools. This feature, which started rolling out in March 2025, will be generally available between April and July 2025.

7. Atlassian Home – Dashboards

Atlassian Home will feature new flexible reporting dashboards, allowing users to create charts and reports using data from all Atlassian products. This will be available to all Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence customers after the open beta.

8. Loom AI:

We’re getting meeting transcription, custom video generation, automatic bug creation and more in one of Atlassian’s fastest growing products.

9. Service Management: AI-driven enhancements

Jira Service Management is receiving several AI-driven features, including support for employees, incident management, and HR Service Management (HRSM) capabilities. These enhancements are designed to make it easier for support, operations, and HR teams to deliver exceptional service experiences.

  • AI Powered Employee support: Service anywhere – Virtual Service Agents are now available in Slack, MS Teams, Email, Help Centre and also in Rovo Chat.
  • AI-powered support: GenAI knowledge article creation, AI suggestions panel for support, Service triage agent
  • HR Service Management: From onboarding to off-boarding, and everything in between, high-velocity HR teams look to Jira Service Management to collaborate on one platform.
